c3d2012 hard crash

my c3d crashed without warning several times per day although it's not irritating yet. it seems to crash after several hours of constant use regardless of what drawing i'm in or what command i use. it's a hard crash so i don't have the option of saving my drawing but i've trained myself to save regularly. i've tried keeping an eye on the task manager to see if i'm using too much of the computer's resources but it might get to 2.5G memory before crashing. the drawings themselves aren't huge but they have a lot of data refs. some of the drawings have lot of layouts. any thoughts?

If you're using lots of layouts, try setting Layouregenctrl to 0.

Close and re-open Civil 3D a few times during the day.

Reboot the system when you leave for lunch.

layoutregenctl is set to 0.

with 12g of ram, it seems like it should be using a lot more memory than the 2.5g it gets up to.
