append Civil 3D NWCOUT file

Hi

I am trying to append a Civil 3D file created by typing NWCOUT command into Navisworks.

However when i try and do this i get the error command attached.

Has anyone come across this before and if so how did you correct.

Thanks in advance

Ian

The NWC exporter created a later version of NWC file than the Navisworks in use e.g. a 2014 NWC exporter was installed and now its trying to be opened with a 2013 Simulate.

Hi

Thanks for the response, is there anyway to select which version of NWC exporter i want to use or is the only way to use Navis 2014.

Thanks.

It used to prompt you for the exporter version, but that was prior to the stand-alone/non-license plug-ins.  If it doesn't provide a Ribbon element to use, you might consider a few things:

  • if you already have the 2013 exporters installed, try doing a repair install on it
  • try uninstalling the 2014 exporters
  • try uninstalling *all* Navisworks exporters, then re-installing the version you want
  • install the Civil3D object enabler onto Navisworks and open the DWG file directly in Simulate, which will automatically create the NWC file
