activation

I don't like this activation deal. I have confirmed with support via two requests and they have assured me that I can reactivate my product. I have reinstalled due to two major computer problems (same brand). Anyway I have had a custom machine built and need to get the software activated! It said I had too many activations (2 I think w/ this being the 3rd?) Who do I call to figure this out? I would rather talk to a person. I need to get back to work. I know it's Sunday but I work weekends sometimes. I also realize that I have 30 days to activate but I am a land surveyor who spends alot of time away from my computer and time spent figuring this out is wasted time.
Thanks,
Mark Driver

Talk to your reseller. If you're not happy with the results you get with
them I know of one that you can change over to that will offer you the
support when you need it.
In the mean time you can call the Activation people and talk with a person
(they may have an accent) but you will get results that should make you
happy.

You don't like activation? It's a fact of life.

So you have 30 days to activate it - that's more than enough, and it's not
the fault of the software that you've maxed out your online activations.
If you don't see your computer for 30 more days, have a friend or coworker
do it. All it takes is a call to (800) 551-1490 and you're activated in
less than 5 minutes. It's not a big deal at all, and you get to speak to a
human. Keep in mind when you call them that they don't make the rules. --

Sorry to hear you've had problems. Unfortunately Autodesk must do something
to reduce piracy. Otherwise illegal copies would be even more rampant that
they are now. Of course you will be able to talk to someone. Call the number
below. There should be no trouble reauthorizing your software. If the is
contact your reseller.

Why would you care about software piracy? Because it people don't pay for
the software they use. You and I end up paying for it.

Everyone,
Thanks for the input. I guess I came off wrong. It was late, this was my third reinstallation of several computer programs totalling about 50 or so hours over the course of 3 weeks. Not just Civil 3D. PAINFULL! It seemed as if I finally got things set up and bam, down again. It turned out that computer(s) had some faulty hardware on a particular line. The activation specialist was very helpful and I acted appropriately, if you must know. I guess when you run the show and put the work out the door, walls like this get frustrating. I have the right to express my concern as you do too.

Regarding piracy? Yes activation's a good thing. I guess I am guilty of not knowing if the unregistered version would attach a watermark (much like the student versions do or used to) after saving or plotting. These are things I do not know about the software and wasn't really willing to take a chance. It was late Sunday, didn't get back drawing until Tuesday. So, as I continue to have the software open all day long to meet the business needs of my clients, it set me back big time. Plain and simple. Carry on. All is good now. So go sell some software to the Universities (which is a good thing by the way). You should try the University of Tennessee/Knoxville Civil Department (my alma mater). They really need to implement civil software into the program.
Thanks again,

Glad things are going better for now. I think we can all understand your
frustration. Most of us have probably been in your shoes at one point or
another. If not with license activation then with something else. Did I ever
tell you the one where I tried 6 times to create a Raster Design network
deployment......
