acad.pgp not taking priority

I want to add a custom command to "ss", but adding it to acad.pgp doesn't work. All my other commands work, but for "ss" It seems there is a transparent command "sideshot" which is taking priority.

Anyone know how I can remove the sideshot command?

Just found the same problem with "dd"

After some considerable googling I found this little nugget:

UNDEFINE

Undefines built in AutoCAD commands. Only works for the current session, so I've added these lines to acad.pgp:

(command "undefine" "ss")
(command "undefine" "dd")

Thanks!

I would wonder if acad is finding a different copy of the acad.pgp file then
the one that your editing. Look at your support paths. The top of the list
takes priority. I would check that you are editing the file found in the 1st
support path.

John, I would think these are like "native" commands, they WILL take
priority.

I was trying to say this.

Assume acad.pgp exists on the C drive and an identical copy exists on the D
drive.

You edit the version on the C drive but the D drive is listed 1st in the
support paths.

If I am not mistaken, you should not notice the edits because AutoCAD is
loading the acad.pgp file on the D drive.

John:

Type either ss or dd in your Civil 3D command line.

Don't worry guys - my issue was resolved with UNDEFINE.

It is in fact a built in command so it's not specified in any other acad.pgp file. This is evident by the fact that UNDEFINE worked, as it only works for built in commands. Had SS or DD been defined in a lisp or any other customisation file like acad.pgp, the UNDEFINE command would not have worked.

Thanks for your efforts!

You can easily tell which file your application is using by typing
(findfile "acad.pgp") on the command line, mine returns this:
"U:\\C3D files\\acad.pgp"

Hi John,

If you use the [Express Tools][Tools][Command Alias Editor] command,
it's certain you are editing the relevant file.
