Z Co-ordinate check

We have received 3d polylines and 3d polygons from a 3rd party app and have been asked to check for co-incident points where the Z has not snapped correctly. I know the event viewer shows crossing strings after building a model but can we set anything to show where Z differs if X and Y co-ordinates are the same?

Don't know if this has anything to do with your problem but I'll mention it
anyway. In C3D 2005 we overrode a point style for a single point group.
While these points were then displayed at the elevations the node osnap
still went to a 0 elevation.
