Xref Registry Purge

Hi-

Due to .dwg files swelling in size we purged the registry in our main "base" drawing to reduce from 30Mb to 11Mb

The base works great now BUT all files that reference that "base" dwg will not load and get so far as loading the Xrefs where it crashes.

Please Advise

Hi jdrazenovich,

Is your drawing increasing in size randomly, after save or is it just getting bigger after you kept on adding new objects on it? If the drawing is getting bigger for no apparent reason then most likely you have a corrupted drawing. In that case, I'd switch to recovery mode. WBLOCK and LandXML could be a good way to go.

If your drawing is becoming larger due to extensive work (which explains why you would like to remove some un-necessary data), that also may indicate issues with drawing corruption.  RECOVERALL, -PURGE and MAPCLEAN would be a good way to try. Run these commands on all referenced files. I'm afraid that the issue is with corruption of the drawing and that you may need to go back to an older version of the file. Hope this helps.
