XML schemas

Is there a way to update a schema, like the version used in LDD 2004 to a current one? I know, I know LDD 2004 but it's what I 'sometimes' still use in various situations. Just really depends. I haven't tried any other the later versions of LDD (before its death). I upgraded from LDD 2004 straight to Civil 3D 2008.
I have experienced problems trying to import xml from Civil 3D 2008, 2009 and haven't even begun to try 2010.

There isn't a way to update the schema that LDD 2004 uses, but with Civil 3D 2010 we have added export support for 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 LandXML. So, if you were in Civil 3D 2010 you could export to LandXML 1.0 for LDD 2004 to use.

Thanks for the information. That will come in handy when needed. It seems that I have the best luck transferring from one to another via XML.
