Why not working ? Maximum Drop Across Structure Rule???

Hey Folks

I have applied my rules until my fingers burn and i still can't figure out
why they arent working

i checked to make sure they were applied to each strucutre and pipe in
prospector, then i manually went through and did apply rules, and then i
re-drew pipes too. same results

sometimes it works

someetimes it doesnt

i dont know the deal.

any insight? the invert OUT should match the lowest invert in, right?

I'm not sure what order the rules are performed in, or if your site is steep enough for this to occur, but if the cover is not met for the downstream pipe wouldn't it lower the pipe invert to meet the cover rule and ignore the invert matching rule?

hmmmmm
that might just be the ticket

i think cover is pretty low on the totem pole. at least it was in 2006. let
me look closer.

You probably already figured it out, but you should be able to set the priority of the rules when you create or add rules. Switching the order of the rules should in theory let the matching inverts rule have priority over the depth rule. Haven't tried it yet just remembered that the feature is there when the rules are set when I was working on designing sewer laterals. This may solve your problem that you mentioned on your blog of going up hill.
