What is the quickest way to move/copy labels from one surface to another

Rather than modifying a surface, I have used all the break lines and point groups and created a new surface. I want to copy all my labels from the previous surface to the new surface. What is the easiest way to do this?

Surface labels can't be copied from one surface to another.   Have to start over.

Here are some workarounds. Try searching for terms including "label" and "surface reference",

I read the post from the link above and the solutions seem more complicated than they need to be. Maybe I'm missing something but I think the following will work as well.

 

Delete all items from the definition of the original surface. Then paste the new surface into the original surface.
