I am trying to create sample lines that are not perpendicular to my alignment. I have had some luck using the "Select Existing PolyLine" routine but today I am out of luck. I get the attached error when trying to select an existing polyline or if i choose to select two points to define the endpoint of the sample line.
I am able to choose a station and then manually adjust the endpoints to their desired locations but I would like to know why this isnt working as desired.
I am having the same problem in Civil3D 2008. I have two surfaces that I am trying to compare. Both surfaces are data shortcuts that have been promoted in the current drawing. I have an alignment that is also a data shortcut. !!!! I just realized that I didn't promote the alignment.
UPDATE: Promoting the alignment solved the problem. Hope this is helpful.
