Hey!
I have a problem finding a solution to how to adjust the transparency of my WMS image.
Does anyone know if it's even possible?
I'm using Civil 3D 2012.

Best practice would be to save locally the WMS image as Geotiff file (in Qgis) then handle trasparency either as monochromatic image (in Autocad) or as .PNG one (in Irfanview) or adding an alpha channel (in Gimp).
Does the fact that i didnt understand almost anything, make things more complicated?
Isn't there a built-in function for that?
When you connect to the WMS files there is the transparency control in the data connection palette. Depending on the server and images as if you can control it.
I am unable to find that option in the data connection pallette. There is one to control the transparency of the pallette, but not the WMS image.
Ok so i found a solution to my problem.
At first, i had to save my raster layer as a .layer file.
Then i had to open it using notepad.
Then, betwee the lines <FeatureName>WMSLayers:MA-FOTOKAART</FeatureName> and
<Geometry>Image</Geometry>
i had to type <Opacity>0.5</Opacity> where you can change the number accordingly to your eneds.
Eventually the notepad file looked like the one i attached as "opacity.jpg"
Now i had to save the file and do Task Pane -> Data -> Load Layer where i chose the now modified layer.
The end product looked like the one on the second attachment.
The point of all this was that i wanted the map image under my project plan so the plan would be easier to understand, but i didnt want the map to disturb the drawing itself if you know what i mean.
Wierd. The transparency only seems to show out when in 2dwireframe. In all other shademodes the image is not transparent at all. 😞
Any clues why is that so?

Brilliant! Thanks man!
I know it's an old topic, but i'm publishing something with maps underneath (25k's, pastel colours) i REALLY wanted to dim them. Had i used MAP more in the past, maybe it would occur to me as well. I learned something new today, two things actualy 😄
Cheers,
