WHY ARE SOLIDS DISPLAYING AS HOLLOW?

Why are solids displaying as hollow? I have about a thousand simple "solids", each drawn in the shape of a traingle, from a drawing someone else gave me.  None of the traingle solids show as solid filled even though the person I got this dwg from swears they are solid when they open it on their machine. I then drew a simple triangular shaped solid from scratch and sure enough it is displying as hollow. Other solid hatches, text, and actual dimension leader arrowheads display as solid filled correctly. I've read some other forums about similar issues and none of them seem to have the answer to my particular problem. One suggested a hotfix that had to do with Raster Design, but they didn't provide a link to the hotfix and a search doesn't find it. I uninstalled Raster, but that does nothing.  Also, they print hollow as well.  Please help...thanks in advance

Here are my settings:

-Fill: on

-Fillmode: 1

-shademode: 2dwireframe

-visualstyle: 2dwireframe

-ucs: world

-plan: current (world)

-hideplot is not checked

Normally we like to have Product Name and version listed.  From what you are asking I am assuming you are not using Civil 3D.  If not, you may not get much help in this forum.

Good luck

Post the drawing that exhibits the issue for someone to take a look.

Everything in the drawing can be purged / deleted as long as one of these problem solids is present.

Ok here's what I observed with your file.

First thing noticed was the View Cube looked suspicious:

solid orig.JPG

Next I clicked dropdown on View Cube.

solid navcube.JPG

Paralell was set here. (which appears toi be normal).

solid par.JPG

I selected Home which displayed a 3d view.

Enter PLAN @ command line and set to WORLD and there's your solid.

Give this a try and see if you can see the solids? Plan>World seemed to fix it here.

Jay,

This does seem to work mostly, but it sure would be nice to not have to reposition my viewports after it automatically zoom extents.  I could probably build a macro to everything in one shot if it didn't zoom extents and rotate my dv twist to 0 automatically. Or maybe I could even build a lisp that I can put in my start-up suite that sets system variables and runs the necessary commands upon open to get it to display properly.  I have about 100 sheets like the one attached...gonna take a day or so, or more....

Anyway, thanks again!

I followed Jay's instructions in the drawing you posted. But I didn't see any change in the viewports. The first thing I'd try is Locking the Vewports.

navvcube won't display in the viewport if it's locked....can't implement Jay's instructions without navvcube displayed.

My mistake. I followed my instincts and switched to modelspace before doing home and plan.
