Boss looking at cheap computers

Recommended video cards seem to be in the 2 gig size.

System requirements don't list the video card RAM

Am I correct to keep looking in the 2 gig range?

If most of your projects require rendering of projects then that would be fine, but if you are not doing any 3d modeling or rendering then 512mb-1 gb video card will be fine.

If he gets cheap computers he'll get substandard performance. Hopefully that's not the only thing in the computer that's cheap.

It never ceases to amaze me how a business owner will want to save 500 or 600 bucks on something that can waste that number in less than 2 weeks due to lost productivity.

Good luck.

I'd guess it's because he can easily see $500 or $600 leaving the company as cash whereas lost productivity over a time period is more of an abstract thing....

I keep telling the staff they need to put the 1/2 lost to waiting for computer regen or documenting crashes on time sheets.

I understand that. But people who want to run a successful business should be able to look beyond that. Just go and spend a few minutes watching your people work.
