Uninstall TrueView

My computer is running low on memory and I am looking at uninstalling any unused programs as is suggested. TrueView is a program that I never use because I have the full version of AutoCad and Civil 3D installed. Can I uninstall TrueView without causing problems to AutoCad or Civil 3D?

Thank you.

You can definitely uninstall TrueView - but that won't help with any memory issues. Programs such as TrueView only consume system memory when they are actively loaded into system memory. Hard drive space is a different story entirely.

I'm sorry Jason, I meant hard drive space not memory. I had a balloon pop up that said my computer only had 185 mb free when 300 mb is recommended. So I am good to go uninstalling TrueView?

Thanks again.

I'd suggest you'd need to do a bit more than uninstalling Trueview if that is all the space that is left on your hard disk..Smiley Indifferent.!!!!!!

I am in 100% complete agreement here with nellyj - you need to uninstall MUCH more than TrueView to free up some HDD space. Why? With low disk space, your operating system becomes more and more unstable, since it pushes off memory paging to the hard drive. A lot of temporary things get stored on your hard drive, and when there's no space there, you're begging for crashes. If upgrading to a larger hard drive isn't a possibility, you need to delete any unncessary data and/or programs on your drive - starting with your %TEMP% directory.

Agreed - also emptying the recycle bin (and reducing its size) will help.

The Windows Disk cleanup tool is a fairly painless way of reclaiming space

Thank you both for your input. I will evaluate uninstalling any other unused program as necessary, absolutely. I've never used TrueView and wasn't sure how it was bundled with AutoCad or Civil 3D. I simply wanted to check here first before uninstalling to verify it wouldn't negatively affect my other Autodesk programs. I run disk clean up at least once a week which definitely helps keep it clean.

Thanks again and have a good day.
