Unable to edit Horizontal Alignment using alignment grid view

As stated I can't edit the alignment using the grid view menu. This makes
it very hard to change curve radii. It pops up for just a brief second,
then flashes away just as quickly.

This only occurs on one machine:

Win2000Pro, SP3 with added files from C3D disk.
512Meg
1.8 Pentium

This works just fine on another machine
WinXP Home
256Meg
AMD 2000+XP

Ron,

I think you are running into a problem that is described in the General
Autodesk Civil 3D Issues of the readme. Here is the problem, and the
workaround.

Drawing Window Should Not Be Maximized When Using Alignment and Profile Grid
Views

Certain Autodesk Civil 3D commands, such as the Alignment and Profiles
Create By Layout and Edit commands, use a window called a Panorama to
display the Grid View for editing content. If the drawing window is
maximized when you attempt to open the Panorama window in a docked state,
the current command ends and the Panorama window is not displayed.
The following illustration shows the location of the Alignment Layout
toolbar button used to display the Alignment Grid View (Panorama).

· If the drawing window is maximized, the Panorama window must be floating,
not docked.

· If the drawing window is restored down, the Panorama window can be docked.

If you encounter this situation, "restore down" the drawing window and run
the command again.
