OK, so I have a roadway job that they are widening the road and overlaying the existing surface. I'm trying to figure a way to have my sections "recognize" the existing edge of asphalt on both sides and be able to show the concrete they are adding to the edges past the existing edge to reach the 20' road width. I have a centerline alignment, I've started on my typical section, but I can't find any way to tell it to vary the second paving width dependent on the existing EOP.
The concrete paving will vary from 0 to maybe 4', the 2" overlay will be the entire 20' (I've already set this part correctly) but I'm stumped as to how to tie it all together. I've searched and read about almost everything, except what I want...Surely I'm not looking for a unicorn LOL Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think you may need to research corridor targets as seen on the corridor's parameters tab.
You need alignments for the existing EOP and the new EOP. The exisitng EOP will need an exsting surface profile to anchor the assembly on (perhaps you don't need a centerline and a full section if this is widening only) and you will target the proposed EOP alignment. A profile may not be needed for the target EOP if the assembly alone can create the finished grade you need.
If the overlay and widening is on both sides of CL then yes a full section would be appropriate.
Yes, it is widening on both sides. Since I knew the correct term I was looking for I found this to be very helpful also, thanks again John for leading me in the right path.....
