Trimble Link 2012 install

I'm trying to install Trimble Link for C3D 2012 and not having any success. It's not an Autodesk product, but I can't find any documentation or help troubleshooting on Trimble's site. I'm hoping someone here can clue me in on how to install this thing.

I downloaded and installed the file from here: http://ww2.trimble.com/link_ts.asp?Nav=Collection-87485.

I also tried installing the Trimble Link Engine (http://ww2.trimble.com/link_ts.asp?Nav=Collection-63440 )and reinstalling the above to no avail.

I attempted to customize my cui and did not find Trimble Link in the menu or ribbon options. The installers gave no errors, but they do not appear to have installed anything.

Running C3D 2012 SP4, Windows 7 64bit

Not at my Workstation now but I suspect that the program is 32bit. The ini file needs to be modified to C:/Program Files (x86). There was a similar problem several years ago with the Leica Link  and with Raster Design look for those postings for the modification instructions of the install ini configuration file.

I discovered / posted this in an old thread: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-Civil-3D-General/Trimble-Link-Menu-not-appearing/td-p/2623371

Type CUI in the command line.

Under Customize tab click the load partial customization button (folder with plus over it).

Browse to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012\UserDataCache\Support (the path changes depending on what version/year you are have)  and open the TrimbleLink.cuix file.

In the same tab, right click your desired workspace and click Customize Workspace.

Expand Ribbon>Tabs on the left side, double click Trimble Link. It should now appear under the chosen Workspace>Ribbon Tabs on the right.

Click apply and OK.
