Ok, I am not a Civil guy at all and that is why you never see me on this forum, but I have read enough postings speaking to the fact that there need to be an Idea Station for this group. So, as a community participant, here is an Idea that you can vote for to hopefully get this rolling!!!
Feel free to cast your kudo vote for it. Don't worry, I know it is under the wrong heading, but what the hey!!! Where else would you place an idea like this???

Solved by Cadmanto. Go to Solution.
Just click on the link provided in my first posting to take you to the idea in the Ideas station.
This is where the kudo votes should be placed. Not necessarily in this thread.
Cadmanto,
I put Kudos in both places. I think it's a fine idea.

Dave,
That's fine. It was suggested to me to make sure I made it clear so others didn't think casting kudo votes here in this thread would do the trick instead of in the ideas station.
Thank you for your support!!!

Well, if there used to be one, it sure aint there now!!
You are right in that would be the perfect place to put this idea.

I am sure there used to be a wish list forum as well. Where has that gone?
There used to be a C3D wishlist forum (and there were others too) but they got rid of it because (as they said at the time) they were implementing these IdeaStations. But then they never implemented one for us.

P.S.
In case you're interested, here's a link to the ARCHIVED C3D wishlist forum. I'm pretty sure it's locked so that it won't accept new posts. But you might find it interesting to see what some of the wishes were.

And here's a link to the announcement about closing the wishlist in favor of the IdeaStation (posted 10/9/13).

Don,
Thanks for sharing those links. I did not know that there was that forum, but reading through them, apparently the idea station for this was promised almost seven months ago. Maybe my efforts will fall by the wayside, but like I said, I have heard several postings saying that there was no place to post ideas in this area and Revit.. So, hopefully it will stir something to get this idea in motion.

Also for those that don't know, there is a place to submit feature requests -- they're just not visible to users so that we can vote on them or anything like that. I have no idea how much importance they place on things submitted here via this link -- hopefully a lot as I've submitted a number of items myself. 🙂

Bottom line here is that the Idea Stations have to be monitored by the design teams. If they don't agree that they can devote the time. Then there is no Idea Station. It would do no good for anyone to order them to do an Idea Station. What little participation wold be grudgingly given.
As far as the old wishlist. Only those people on the design team who voluntarily participated in the Civil 3D forum knew about it. There was no official monitoring of it and some on the design team didn't even know there was a Civil 3D forum let alone an wish list.
I'm in no way blaming or deriding these people. When you're supposed to be producing a new version of the program every year and come up with fixes for current problems. There isn't much time to read forums.

I remember using that site way back before any idea stations were started, I submitted several suggestions/ideas there. Truth be told, I never got any responses or feedback from Autodesk using that method. It felt like they fell on deaf ears.
I personally don't get as to why the Civil 3D and Revit don't have idea stations. In my opinion, ALL pieces of software produced by Autodesk should have their own idea stations open to the users.

I agree with you 100% about not deriding the dev staff. BUT if they're NOT taking part in the wishlist forums/ideastations, then HOW are they supposed to know what the users want in that new software? If they're not taking part, then they're basically just adding/deleting as they think it should be done.
Their bosses need to realize that they need to staff the team with enough people for them to devote a few hours a week (minimum) to an ideastation/wishlist forum and still accomplish the development tasks. Or at the very least one person who's sole resonsibility is to monitor such a place and act as a liason to the dev team.

Having said all of that, I know that AUGI maintains a wishlist that is submitted to (and accepted by) Autodesk every year at AU. If AD really takes those wishlists into account, then I could see directing users to go there to submit their suggestions. If that's the case, then maybe AD should even go so far as to post a link on this site stating such.

I have received notice that this topic has been assigned to customer support.
So, at least this is on its way to finding some form of resolvment.

I will not even bother posting ideas there.
Why?
Because I can write a bible about how autocad and civil3D could function better. It's a non stop nuisance of non responding keys, non stretchable menu's, weird behaving menu's and commands that seem to be designed by a 5 year old.
So in a new version, fix or update we get 10 things fixed? Out of a 1000?
Please please please Autodesk: Use the program for a few weeks yourself or come sit at my desk for a few days and you will have a 1000 things to fix.
This is a good idea. Developing new things is one thing, and fixing existing problems is another thing (Those problems are, indeed, sometimes really strange).
Fixing problems first is higher on my wishlist.
However, posting your bible there might be a good idea as well
