Dear all, is there anyone here familiar with autocad civil 3d 2012 and database (sql server)? Can anybody explain to me the steps of synchronyzing the autocad properties into the database? I need help in this matter
Thank you in advance
Are you looking for the Map feature to link Map GIS data to the SQL database or looking to map actual autoCAD objects to the database through programming? If it's the Map you might want to post in the Map DG.
What I started writing, which may not be what you are looking for:
I alway get it backwards, but I think the handle is a constant value in AutoCAD (or the ObjectId) which is what I'd use as the key between a drawing and SQL. You'd have to have a session of Civil 3D active in order to interact with the
drawing database. Then you could examine the objects to put into the SQL database. You'd most likely want to use programming to accomplish it, although you could probably use Map 3D to accomplish the task.
I need both; to export the drawing properties to SQL through:
1. Autocad menu
2. AutoLisp programming
As far as my efforts, i haven't found the process 😞
I'm not sure about AutoLisp to SQL, but you might want to take a look at LINQ and DataContext to link to SQL.

Thank you very much for the link, but my "boss" wants me to sync AutoCAD properties to SQL database only with or without AutoLISP 😞
