Tag removal

Well if no one knows the answer to may question I geuss this could be a post of a warning when using tags.

Right now I have an alignment that is/was tagged then I had to remove some of the geometry. Well the alignments are in a data shortcut drawing so when I removed the geometry without removing tags first it will no longer allow me to tag to the tag numbers used by that geometry.

I have tried auditing, recovering, erasing all tags, but it seems that the numbers are stuck in the drawing database, which I really do not wish to go through at this moment. So I can either start a new drawing (don't like this option) or start from 100 and move on. I hope no one has had this problem with a drawing with more then 1 alingment with tag labels....ouch!
