Surface to LD2005

I've edited a LD2005 surface in C3D and I now want to return it to my LD2005 project. I used the Extract Civil3D data and it indicated that everything worked OK. the head view of Terrain Model Explorer indicates that I've got a new surface with 17679 Points and 1070KB, however there is no data in any of the TIN Data items. The directory has 3 files: .tin, .sdf and a .pnt.

I guess I'll try LandXml to import the surface, but why woudl the Extract Data not work.

Any ideas?
