Surface slopes in small area

I have a large ex surface that I have divided into basins and such. I know need to evaluate the slopes in these areas. To do the whole surface at once seems to not be possible. Is there a way in c3d to view analysis information for a section of surface for instance in a polyline or fence?

Thanks.

Couldn't you make a copy of your surface, apply a polyline boundary, and then do the surface analysis?

The surface is data shortcutted and I have about 48 basins. So that would be managing a lot of stuff. Yes, there are ways to do it by creating new surfaces. I was just hoping for a neat view trick. In InRoads, you can place a fence and just view inside the fence.

Ok, that would be like using the Masks feature. You add it like you would a boundary, and pick "Outside". My understanding is that a boundary will limit your triangulation but a mask will only limit your view.
