I think you missed the key point in Matt's response. You need to create a
Volume surface, not just compute the volumes.
When you create a new surface, the pull down in the top left corner allows
you to select which type of surface. Select a volume surface option then
towards the bottom of the dialog box you specify the surfaces to be compared
(be sure to get them in the right order or the data will be backwards.)
From there, set your style as desired, contours, analysis, etc.

Matt,
I've created my EG and FG surfaces (TIN's), and I already compared them to
each other to obtain the volume surface difference, and in the Composite
Volumes dialogue box it appeares my total amount of Fill, Cut and Net. I
guess my question is how to represent graphically the location of that cut
and fill.
You said that I could use elevation banding to shade cut/fill. How do you do
that for Cut and Fill only?? I've attached a copy of my EG with some
elevation banding shades, ho
wever, that's not what I am after; How do you show the cut and fill to apply
the elevation banding??
Thanks in advance!
