Surface Elevations

I am wondering how to show the elevations of my surface by moving my cross hairs over my surface. I've seen this done before in a webcast, but cant found it now.
Thanks

You need to make sure toolipts are on.

In the settings tab right click your drawing and choose Edit drawing
settings
Click on the Ambient settings tab and expand the General property.
There is a Show tooltips row, change the valur to yes.
If there is a down arrow in the Child oberride column click it so it shows a
red X.

Sorry to be obvious, but I'm assuming there's a surface or alignment in your
drawings?

Can you make this work in another file?

Well it works here. It certainly look like an installation issue. Maybe a
repair or reinstall?
