I do is make a copy of the surface, rename it to <Surface> Slope
Analysis (or whatever fits your standards), then us a Polyline representing
the property line as a surface border. Then I can display the slopes in that
surface. I like to do it that way because it's then easy to show the contours
extending outside the property lines and the slopes within the property lines
at the same time.
