Slope Label with Text above direction arrow

When adding a slope label to a surface, how can I force the text to always be above the direction arrow? The system seems to decide on its own based upon the perpendicular direction of the contours.

You may want to check the plan readability setting in the label style.

I found by setting the Orientation Reference to Object and the Forced Insertion to "Bottom" then it puts the label above the direction arrow

WISH: there needs to be a "flip label" option included in the right click to enable flipping of the slope text from top to bottom of the slope arrow.
Forced insertion makes it always default to top or bottom, but i want the option similar to how alignment stations or geometry points act.

THANKS!

You could add a second line to the text component (with just a space as the second line of text) and anchor it middle center to the arrow. The plan readability setting will take care of flipping it to a readable rotation as it will rotate around the middle of the arrow.

In case anyone needs it, there is a "component draw order" button in the layout tab of the label style where you can bring the arrow to the front.

Hi Andrew,
Welcome to the Autodesk Forums, and good to see a fellow Las Vegan.
Good tip. I hadn't noticed that one.
