Slicing 3D Solid at Regular Intervals

Hi,

We have modeled the road restraint system shown below using Civils 3D 2014. The post and foundations are built as 'one block' then arrayed using the arraypath command. The arm cove is then generated from a polyline and then extruded using ether 'sweep command' or 'extrude along path' as shown below.

This process has a few problems;

1. when barrier goes round corners the post tends to end up cutting in to the arm cove (shown below left) but as you can see from the image on the right, it is from the start of fence line.

Ideally we would like to find a way of dividing/slicing the arm cove in to sections that join in the middle of the posts so that quantities could be taken from the model.

We would really appreciated any suggestions on how to do this?

FYI, the corridor has been developed in a 3rd Party software (MX) hence we didn't develop the Posts/Arm Coves as assemblies in Civil 3D. Not to mention, we didn't figure out how to create assemblies for the posts/foundations.

Considering that the posts are evenly-spaced, you could extrude the arm cove for one post-to-post section only, make a block of that and then use the Measure command to place that block evenly-spaced along a path through the fronts of the posts.
