Since Jeff Mishler's feeling lucky with the Ribbon today....

maybe I should ask if the slowwwwwneeeeeeessss due to the properties palette being active is or ever will be addressed by the lords?
It's pretty clear for me (in all versions since 2008), turn it off and the hesitation stops and we're back to speedy gonzalas (sp?) from the cartoons! Turn it on, moe freaking lasses! Any takers want to splain to me why this happens? Hardware? OS?

Oh, the sun's finally coming out here in East Tennessee! Ask Bill (wfb) as he's nearby in KY about the freaking rain!

Thanks,

We still have doom and gloom here for the weather.
Now, I have no problems with the properties box being active. I ALWAYS keep
that rascal on.
My "Winders" 7 is smoking, well, for sure better than smoldering.

Well good to the properties palette. It's a very handy tool to have and try my best to keep it on but can't deal with that.
I have my upgrade to Win 7 on order and hope things change.

When you mention keeping the properties palette closed whenever possible, do you mean click-the-X closed, or just minimized? I have mine undocked, floating in my second monitor, and rolled-up so it's only a thin blue bar. Is that "closed enough" to realize an improvement, or is it better to close it all the way?

I haven't tried having it hidden so i'm not sure if it would make a difference but I do know that they should fix it.
It has to be one of the most used palettes. So much information on that palette.

Bill & Murph,
Ja makin' me thirsty with all of that talk.
