Showing Contour Lines with the Points shown

Hello,
I'm trying to create and show contour lines on a surface. (I know how to do it in LDD but not Civil 3D). I already have the point file downloaded into a point group and the points are displayed into the drawing. The Help command doesn't help me when it's referring to the Display manager to create contour lines.

If somebody can help me with that will be great.

You need to create a surface and apply a surface style that will display the
contours. The surface style will define the contour interval. The point
group will be added to the surface definition. Look up 'creating surfaces'
in help.

Best bit of advice is to not treat Civil 3D as the next version of LDD. It's a completely new animal. Go through the tutorials, get a book, get some training. Most of all, don't treat it like LDD.

If your points are in the drawing and in a group, create a surface, add
the point group to the surface and be sure to set the surface style to
show contours.

Got it. I'm having troulble labeling the contour lines. Do you have to label the contours individually under Surfaces & Add Surface Labels? I already set the major contour lines at 10' intervals.

Use Contour-Multiple or Multiple at Interval. You pick a starting point and end point and the labels show up on the contours along the line. You can move the line where you want it with grips once you select a label. They will all follow the line. The line disappears when deselected.
