Not sure that there are any service packs for Civil 3D 2012 (there is for vanilla AutoCAD 2012 but don't download those). I'd guess the first Service Pack for C3D is not too far away.
There have been a few hot fixes posted and these should be installed

At least half you can weed out because they wont apply to you. UK version, Japanese version, Network License Manger, Infrastructure Design Suite, etc. The top 2 Hot Fixes look most important.
