When I delete the curve I get two disconnected tangents. You can connect
them anyway you like. Stretching one tangent to the apparent intersection of
the two is just very easy for me.

I'm confused here a little. F
rom what I understand I can remove the curve
using the Edit>Alignment>Geometry, Delete Sub-entity then the alignment will
reconnect automatically, then I can re-add the curve. So why would I need to
osnap connect the two tangents as you describe?

If you have an alignment without the extensions you can also edit the
alignment by removing the curve, use the apparent intersection osnap to
conn
ect the two tangents & re-add the curve. The extensions will show.
I would not recommend this for normal production but when you need them you
can get them.

Why would I not be able to get my alignment line extensions to show
