The Carlson Connect download (free) has SDR transfer in it.

Since you're looking for Sokkia, I'd likely click on "Sokkia." I
thought that was fairly self-explanatory.

Sorry - it's been a long day. Any insight for upload/download from flash cards rather than data collectors?

None. I don't have a data collector (or flash card) to test with.

Can you not just browse the flash drive through whatever connection you use?
Should be able to grab the required files off the drive that way. Back out
would be the reverse, creaate the file then use windows to copy to the flash
card.

There is another option: Download ProLink v1.5 off the Sokkia website. Prolink can read in a text coordinate file exported from Civil3d, create the SDR equivalent and upload it to the instrument. It also downloads, reduces to coordinates and produces a text file which can be imported to Civil3D. We tend to keep control files in SDR format on the computer ready for upload when needed.

Carlson Connect expects a com port link (I have not looked at the 2007 version yet). We have problems with new notebooks that don’t have com ports, we have found the Aten USB-Serial converters don’t always work properly with Carlson Connect. It would be great if Carlson Connect could produce the SDR file on the PC and we could rather transfer it using the Prolink, Flash cards or Active Sync, depending on the gear that’s going into the field. Carlson Connect 2006 also dos not give you the option of choosing a Civil3D Point Group to upload, which the exporting of a text file from Civil3D does.

You might get some advice on that from your Sokkia dealer. It uses the Borland database engine, might need some settings done.

We have 6 Computers with Prolink 1.15 on it, they work fine, we use it all the time. Sorry can't be of more help.

Just curious; how do you use Prolink with C3D; do you transfer point lists
back and forth? I'm still struggling to find a way to bring the raw data to
some computer program that permits me to perform traverse adjustments on the
SDR33 data. Are you using Autocad Survey functionality?

Thanks

Brian
