I believe that you need to use a generic link for your ditch inslope on your assembly. Several of the generic links can have their outer end tied to an alignment and profile. Look in "Help" under "Subassembly Help" for guidance.

Say you are able to create a ditch using a couple of LinkWidthandSlope links and then use the DaylightBench at the end to bench through a rock surface. This will work all the way to the daylight point of the rock surface. Let say tou have other layers of materials on top of rock (clay, sand etc), can you then connect other links from that daylight offset and elevation point to add a 3:1 slope to cut through the other materials? Everytime I try to add an extra link after a daylight to surface type of link, it connects back to the previous link.
