Reverse Pipe linetype?

Is it possible to reverse a linetype of a 3d pipe so that it is not upside down? My clients told me that they can live with it for now, but I'd like to be able to change it without having to redraw pipes and re-input inverts and slopes.

I've got something, it just doesn't work on curved pipes. What version do you have? The routine flips the pipe, for straight pipe it works perfectly, on curved pipes you need to drag the curve to where it belongs.

Another option is to create another linetype with the text upside down and
use that for the pipes that show upside down text.

I'm on Civil 3d 2008 with service pack 2 installed.

Does what you have keep the inverts intact on either side of the pipe?

I've thought about making a new linetype, but making a new linetype for all the linetypes we already have is going to take some time and also add to the massive amount of styles we already have for pipes. If that is one of my few options I'll at least take a look at it and see how much work it would be.

It can be found here with the 02-15-2008 date.

It should do what you want.

What is the command to run that? I can't seem to get it to work after loading it.

vbarun, then select the flip pipe (or something simiar, I don't have it open right now) from the list.
You can add it to a toolbar:
http://civil-3d.blogspot.com/2007/06/adding-vba-macro-to-toolbar.html
Or add a bit of lisp to be able to type in a command at the command line. An example is here:

I noticed a disclaimer about not working with Excel 2003 or earlier, I was wondering if there was a workaround? I would love to be able to "flip pipes" but can't get it to run.

Thanks,

The flip pipe doesn't require Excel, it's just the PipeNetworkQuantity that may not work with older Excel versions (only because I don't have an older version to test with). Make sure you are pointing to the correct file, here is a direct link:
http://fredbobchris.googlepages.com/FlipPipe.dvb
and the command is FlipPipe from the list and make sure you allow macros to run when the dialog box pops up. If it doesn't work then let me know.

Yes - it is just a style. We have San-L and San-R pipe styles that allow us to flip the embedded direction ---(---(--- vs ---)---)---.

The same should apply to an upside down letter. The style is just display issue and it doesn't mess with the inverts.

Christopher,

Thanks for the quick response. I downloaded the FlipPipe.dvb file again, just to make sure I had the correct one, and I get a compile error in a module (see screenshot) and then the macro just quits.

Thanks for your help with this, and all the other great stuff you've posted and made available, it really is appreciated.

It works at home and I get the same error at work you are getting. I'll try to see if I can fix it tomorrow at work.

If you redownload the program it should work now.
http://fredbobchris.googlepages.com/FlipPipe.dvb
I had to remove the references to Excel 2007 and Word 2007 for it to work on a machine without those programs.

Civil 3d reminders,

I downloaded the FlipPipe.dvb file from the link you provided, but when I run the macro it gives me a message

"Compile error in hidden module: ExcelFunctions"

I am using Civil 3D 2013 when trying to run the macro.

I tried to get into the code to see if I could identify the problem but it was encrypted.  Have you updated the code?  Would it be possible to get a copy of the code?  I noticed you had some code samples on your blog, but I couldnt find this particular macro.  Thank you so much for any help you can provide.

Does anyone have a .dvb or .lsp for an updated reverse linetype or flip pipe for pipe networks and pressure pipe networks? The one here is not working.

Thanks in advanced.

Wondering the same thing. I get the "compile error" and something about Excel. Using C3D 2020 64 bit and have Excel 2013 installed as part of Office.

Is there a modern example of properly fixing this issue? By way of a "plan readability" or similar scenario?
