Remove surface references/surface definition in one file

I have been provided survey data in the form of an XML file that I am using to build a surface.  Everything is fine, except for the drawing with the surface is still referencing the XML file.  What is the best method to remove this reference and have the surface fully contained in one file?  Using C3D 2012.

One option would be to change the surface style being used to show triangles (tins).  Then Extract the triangles from the surface and rebuild your surface with the triangles (as breaklines or AutoCAD Objects) that now reside in the drawing.

Create a snapshot of the surface, then remove the xml file from the definition tab of the surface properties dialog.
