Recovering Drawings that won't open

I have a C3D 2009 drawing that won't open anymore. Recover won't open it
either. What are some techniques for recovering the data? Can I insert it as
a block into a new drawing? Map Queries? XREF with Bind?

The file has some corridors and a Dref to a surface model along with some
Xref's.

By the way, I am not getting any errors when I try to open or recover. It
just never completes the open process.

I did try inserting it as a block and got most of my data back as far as I
can tell except for the Dref. I don't know yet if everything else came
forward properly.

I would do the following:

1. Restart your computer and start C3D.
2. Recover all of the files that are cross-referenced to your main file at least twice (saving each time until you have zero errors found and fixed)
3. Recover your main file as you didi the others.

This may take a while, however, you never know where the source of the trouble may be.

While you try all the suggestions posted here, please also submit the
data to Autodesk support so we may investigate. If you can remember the
last few operations before the problem began that would be useful
information.

I managed to get the file to open after a re-boot. Apparently my memory was
plugged up with residue and the reboot cleaned it out. The file has about
100 MB of imagery attached via XREF and ACAD doesn't handle imagery very
well at all. I'll get back to you if I have problems again Himanshu. Thanks
for offering.
