Hi all,
At the risk of proposing something which is known to be unstable - I think
the grading tools are your best bet. You can use them interactively in the
first case to layout a basic level for grading, then tie it into existing
ground at defined cut and fill slopes if you wish (if not you can tie in
vertically ignoring slopes). You can then query that grading for its cut
and fill quantities and finally you can even have that grading auto-balance
itself to a new level where you explicitly set your desired cut/fill balance
(maybe you want to have an excess cut of 2000 to fill some other pit on the
site).
Finally after all that you can convert the grading into a surface, make a
volume surface between the grading surface and the ground, and then stylize
the resulting "delta" surface to show areas of cut and fill in differing
colors or depth contours.
Only problem as far as I can see is that Grading often crashes.
Good Luck,
Natan

Hi
Is it possible in Civil 3D to have a view of the quantity of earth to move
from one place to other in order to level the ground according to the cut
and fill quantity generated. For example, like we want to know what quantity
of earth shoud be moved from one location to other so that both the
locations are levelled.
I shall appreciate any reply and procedure to do so.
Thanks
