Profile pipe crossing label

I am trying to label a profile pipe crossing with a vertical line and text. Is there a way to snap the line to the visible crossing instead of the center of the pipe? I've attached a picture to show what I'm looking for. I tried the flow arrow method, but I need it to snap directly on the top-center of the pipe, and I can't get it to work.

Using 2008 or 2009? If so create an expression for the pipe outside/inside diameter of the pipe divided by 2 and then add the expression to the y offset of the line. This should move it up to the top of the pipe.

Great! That's only half of my problem, though. The label always shows up at the center of my pipe. Image attached showing what I mean.

I just use a profile view label to avoid this problem. I believe you can solve this using expressions since the station and offset information of the pipe is available in the expressions, the crossing pipe would have to be assigned the alignment you want to show it in. The math shouldn't be that difficult to figure out finding where the crossing pipe crosses the alignment and then the elevation of the top of pipe at that location.

Yeah that's what I'm doing as well. Would just be easier to do it this way. Thanks for the help.

So it's 2023 now - has AutoDesk added this in yet?  I don't know where the "wishlist" is anymore, or I would add this request to it.  I find it very annoying that they haven't figured this out yet - you can add a dynamic label to a crossing pipe in a section and the label will pick on the outside of the pipe instead of the center, but there's no setting for a pipe crossing label in a profile to go to the outside of the pipe.  Let me know if anyone has figured a workaround for this, besides the profile label (it doesn't follow the pipe if the pipe gets moved!!).
