Profile grid disappears

When I open my profile file in civil 3d 2014 the grid disappears so I regenerate it and they are back. The problem I am having is when I run my cursor over the grid, it will give me a fatal error. any suggestions?

Have you tried:
Close the drawing and reopen?
Recover the drawing?
Audit the drawing?
Close the program and start it again?
Shut down the machine and reboot?

Does the same file do the same thing on any other machine?

I am the only one that uses civil 3d in our office. I believe that the file is corrupt.

You can try creating a new, blank drawing and insert the problem file into it, explode it and try the same process that causes the crash.
You can also try to wblock out the file.

Or, if the file only has profile data, you can data shortcut those out, reference them into a new file, and recreate the profile views. You can even promote them and overwrite your old profile file.
