Profile View - Projections exceed limits?

I created a Plan & Profile for a sanitary project. Then I created a feature line over the top of the sanitary run and on the front face of each building in order to project the this information into the profile. The problem I am having is that the projection go further than I desire. I have come up with two work around solutions, one would be to break the feature line add the stations the profile view end and project them seperatly. the other would be to use wipeouts. This is my first project using projections, so I thought i would see how it was being handled by the pros.
