Hello everyone,
I am having a problem with the following command:
"CREATEPROFILEGEOMPOINTS"
It keeps giving me the following error:
"specified station is not valid for this object"
I have only seen this mentioned in the following thread that did not have a solution listed:
Does anyone have an idea of what could cause this?
I have successfully used this command more than once.
Thank You!
G
I opened another one of my drawings and I get the same results!?!?
I don't think my CAD is broken because this is the only thing that seems to not be working.
I assume you do have a profile for the alignment.
This could be an issue with rounding.
e.g. if your profile stations runs from 0+00.000 to 0+100.123
for the end station (if that is where you are getting the error) trying entering a smaller number. i.e. 100.12256
In the thread you mentioned. The OP was looking for a solution of placing points at station.
To do that the solution is
1. ensure that the setting to create points is set to automatic, for both point elevation as well as description
2. than run the command CREATEPOINTMEASUREALIG (create points measure alignment)
unlike the CREATEPROFILEGEOMPOINTS that will place points at critical profile points,
CREATEPOINTMEASUREALIG will place points at intervals you specify. Both methods will place points with the profile elevation.
hope this helps
My alignment starts at 0+00 thru 3+70 even.
I get the error as soon as I choose a station.
The profile starts at about 0+20 and goes to 3+40.
For the start point, I have tried 0, 0+40, 2+40, and 3+40.
They all give me the same error.
