Profile Gaps

This is weird!!

C3D 2013 SP1

Win 7, 64 Bit

I've created a profile and for some reason there are gaps in my profile even tough there is plenty of surface in the area.

Sometimes I can fix this by swaping the surface edge, add an extra point, and sometime I still get nothing.

You can see in the image that 22+00 has no elevation for the left even though the surface is there?

Suggestions?

In your surface style turn off the triangles and turn on the boundary.  Check there are no holes in the surface.

No surface gaps.

I can inquiry the surface and it's fine in that area.

I fixed some of the by adding a point to the surface in that spot.

The best way I've seen to find gaps in a surface is to edit the style to display Elevations. The default ranges will probably be different shades of blue. Look for areas inside your surface boundary where there isn't any blue shading (fill).

If you find any of those areas, make the triangles visible and draw a polyline (or 3d polyline) around the area in question snapping to each endpoint of the triangles and closing the 3d polyline to complete the last segment. Now add the 3d polyline to the surface as a SHOW boundary. You should now see shading (fill) in that area.

You need to look for a hole not along the alignment but at whatever offset left that your data band is displaying the elevations of.

No gaps at all.

Surface is complete in all areas.

I'll keep playing with it.

I agree with troma... what surface is the left (missing) elevation referring to? That's the problem area.
