I am having troubles installing the Civil 3D 2012 trial, but I have a feeling that it has to do with my OS. I’m using Windows 7 operating system loaded on Bootcamp Macbook. I presently have Land Desktop 2004 loaded on this system with no issues. i keep getting this error message:
Installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable (x86): C:\autodesk\AutoCAD_Civil3D_2012_English_Win_32bit\3rdParty\x86\VCRedist\2008SP1\vcredist_x86.exe /q
2011/10/11:16:08:40 GP MESAHA Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable (x86) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603
Could it be the OS or the old Land Desktop?

Shouldn't be Land 2004. I'd suggest posting to the Installation group.

Not familiar with Macs but I would suggest trying to install the C++ package outside of the Autocad installer so the ACad installer skips trying to install it.
You can download it from MS at: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5582
I've run into this problem on Windows machines with other software and a separate install fixed the problem.
