I was wondering if anyone has tried and experienced problems with assigning alignments to the Offset or Curb Return type that were created by layout or from objects. I'd like to use those types as logical categories to group my alignments in the data shortcuts interface, but am wondering if this will cause unforseen problems for me. I know that it is possible to do this at time of creation from layout or objects and I know that you do NOT want to reassign alignments created as offset or curb return to other categories, but anything to help organize objects in the data shortcuts interface would be nice.
From what I have come to understand, "Centerline", "Offeset", "Curb Return", and "Misc." alignments CAN be generated from layouts and objects, CAN be switched from one to the other, and exist for organizational purposes. If you are still wary, draw a polyline, create an "Offset" alignment from it, and change the type to "Curb Return," there should be no issues.
I agree. I aslo don't see any issue with changing a catagory but I do try to do it before building corridors.
