Points

Lets say, by some inconcievable way, points were not labeled correctly in the field and therefore my description keys don't work and I have to fix every single point manually to use the point style and point label style that I need to use in order that the points will disply properly: If I make point groups or something like that, how can I chang the layer of certain points within a group, or a group of points to a different layer. The problem is this: If I change the point group layers to lets say PNT-MISC, it doesn't edit the point layers... in fact it doesn't look like that does anything. Any ideas about this one?

As long as your point style and label style are set to layer 0, they should inherit the layer specified in the point group. Do all your points have the same style?

you need to use a combination of style layers and object layers

this might help...

Keep in mind that points take on the layer properties of the Point Group, unless the Point Group is on Layer 0.

This is one of the things that I don't like about the current setup. It's useful for some things, but I would also like to be able to put a Point Group on some layer other than Layer 0, and still be able to use the Point Style or Point Layer to control the appearance of the point.
