Points from Surface - Error in Elevation

I am running into an issue when creating points from a surface.

Here are the steps I am following

1) Surface is created
2) Create a polyline over top of the surface of interest
3) Create Feature Line from Objects (make sure the check box is selected to assign elevations)
4) Click OK
5) Feature Line is created
6) Point Creation -> Divide Object -> Select Feature Line (200 points in this case)
7) Examine Points

For some reason I am getting a drop in my point elevations. It only occurs in one section (the rest of the data looks good) but for about 10 points the data takes a shift down.

Any ideas on what could be causing this? Utilizing the View -> Coordinate Tracker shows that the values should be at a higher elevation than what is being assigned.

Appreciate any help.

The Featureline crosses over another Featureline in the same site, thereby
grabbing elevations from it?
