Point style Transfer

When I convert my LDD point styles into Civil 3D styles the Marker layer and Label Layer is defaulted to zero, why isn't it using the defined layer from LDD?

LDD styles different than Civil3D. Edit the point style or copy and create your own point style with your preferences.

Correct,

They style converter is not transfering my layers. Does anyone have a workaround?

Set up description keys in C3D.

What version of C3D. Desc keys in 2010 will take care of the issue. If you
are on 08 or earlier you may have to import the points from the LDD proj
database if converting does not honor the desc. keys.

Civil 3D 2010

My point symbols (marker) and descriptor codes (label) are not coming in on the correct layer, it just isn't placing the symbol (tree, mh, cb, etc..) on a layer that was already defined in the LDD Descriptor file. That information did not convert to the "Point Style". I set this up for LDD and do not want to reinvent the wheel in Civil 3D. I used the -----Insert - Landdesktop feature in Civil 3D to convert point styles. Maybe I am missing something.

You are missing a description key set in C3D that will place the correct
symbol and set the correct layer. You are expecting Civil 3D to use the LDD
description keys. That's not going to happen.

If you are Subscription, there is a utility available that will import your
LDD styles and perhaps description keys into C3D. There are also 3rd party
apps. I think Robert Steltman has a utility to do this as well at
www.RSteltman.com.

In the desc key set, is the layer check boxes checked on?

Can you post a screen capture of your desc key set in question that you are using in C3D. Make sure to include the point style, point label style, and layer column.

And if you have more than one desc key set in c3d, where in the desc key hierarchy is the desc key in question?
