Point Style Question

Here is my dilemma...

I have a survey point for a Found Iron Pin.

Description Keys put's it on the correct layer for Survey Points

Point Style shows my Iron Pin Symbol

I would like the symbol to be on a layer that stays on when I freeze the point layer.

In LDD I had points on Z-Survey and the symbol on E-Survey then I could easily

freeze the point layers and leave the symbols in the dwg.

I've tried every setting I can find and I can't get this to work like it used to.

I know I can apply a style that turns off the point labels but that takes too many steps.

I have a macro i used to turn my Z-* layers

Suggestions?

TIA

It does seem odd that there isn't a setting for this (at least not one I've found).  I too use a special point group with point marker and lable style to display my monument symbol and monument information.  Like you, if I freeze the point layer, it turns off, eventhough the label display is set to another layer.  It also turns off if I freeze that other layer too.

Sorry I can't help, but if you find the answer, I'd love to know.

If I'm understanding you correctly... within your point style, under the display tab, you have to set your "marker" which is the symbol to your desired layer and the "label" to it's desired layer. See attached.

T me translate your question. Let me know if I'm wrong.

You want to have the symbol on but the label off?

Freeze z-survey BUT make sure the point is NOT on layer z-survey. If the point is on z-survey you have 2 options.
1. Set the style's label component to another layer.
2. Move the point to another layer.

This isn't LDD.  The symbol is the node.  I use v-node-mon for the symbol and v-node-text for the label info.  Turn off v-node-text and symbol stays.  Do something similar for all symbols.

Perfect!!!!

I had the point go to E-Survey and I created a style for my Iron Pin code (103) that

has the label set to Z-Survey.

Thanks!!
