Point Description gets truncated

In LDDT 2009, I was able to describe points like this: STK #32

But in Civil 3D 2013, whenever I use the # symbol, the description gets truncated.  So, using the point description above, it will show up in Civil 3D 2013 as STK rather than STK #32.

Is this a setting or something that I can switch on so that the I can use symbols such as # and - in my point description?

Are you using Description Keys? If so, check the Format column of the description key that is not working. Try setting that to $* and see if you get the # sign.

Yes, I checked the description key format and it is set to $*.

Is it something to do with the Point Label Style for "description" that I have to change?

It's possible that you have Raw description being called rather than Full Description. Check the Contents of the Description component of your label style.

It was already set to Full Description.

I got it to work.  I changed it to Raw Description, reimported the points and it showed up they way I wanted to.

Thanks for your help.
