Hello:
When a user clicks on certain (not all) locally installed applications…we get this…. KEEPING IN MIND, that these launches are not in relation to any AutoDesk product...launching Firefox sometimes gets this message.
2 pop-up boxes come up and both are labelled AutoCad Civil 3D 2013. One box says: "Please wait while Windows configures AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013" and the other says "Error:: Installation of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 requires Administrator Privileges. Please log in with administrator rights before attempting installation of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013. If you are working on Vista, this may be because UAC is enabled, please disable it and try again."
Updating Civil 3D doesn’t fix it
Reinstalling civil 3d doesn’t fix it.
Could be a user permission proplem with the APPData folder in the users profile or registry problem for the current user.
When a user starts up C3D for the first time it needs to create entries in both of these locations using what is called a Secondary Installer. If those locations have tighter restrictions than normal for a user the Secondary Installer can not complete its requred tasks.
I've seen this more often with roaming or redirected user profiles than normal profiles.
